Chelsea Delahanty
Gahanna, Director
chelsea@emiliaschools.com

Hello! My name is Chelsea Delahanty and I am the Director of The Emilia School located in Gahanna. I started off as an Infant teacher in December 2018 when the school first opened. I was promoted to Director in June 2019.

I have been working in the childcare field for almost 15 years. During this time I have accumulated over 400 hours of Step Up to Quality training as well as obtaining my CDA. I have worked with every age group from Infants to School-Age.

I am also a mother of four children myself. I was the oldest out of three and was a designated babysitter to my niece and nephews. This sparked my interest in childcare.

I believe each child is like a sponge and at these crucial ages they are soaking up every ounce of knowledge they can! I thoroughly enjoy watching as a child’s mind grows with excitement upon exploration of their environment! I strive to help provide each child not only a safe, nurturing atmosphere, but also a stabilized learning environment for each individual child and family!

Elena Brady
Powell, Assistant Director
Elena@sunnydayacademy.net

Hello Emilia Powell Families!

My name is Elena Brady and I am so excited to start assisting Sarah here at Emilia Powell! I have been with Sunny Day since September 2014, where I started in the Pre-Kindergarten room at our Gahanna location and after a year of teaching, I became an administrator. In December 2018, I transferred to our brand new location, Emilia Gahanna, and helped open the center. I left in the summer of 2019 to have my second son and recently came back after spending some time at home with him. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to know your amazing kiddos! My hours will vary day to day with my son in Kindergarten, but I will do my very best to be here for a couple drop off and pick up times during the week.

Here is a little bit more about me
I grew up in Westerville and went to St. Francis DeSales High School and then went on the The Ohio State University. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Science from the college of Education and Human Ecology. My husband Nick and I have two sons; Liam (2014) and Owen (2019) and a dog named Stella. I love to spend time with my family; watching movies, traveling, and playing lots of board games together. I also really enjoy reading, exercising, spending time with friends, and trying new restaurants/foods. I am a huge Buckeye fan and I also cheer for the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns!

Please stop by the office when you get a chance to meet me! I look forward to meeting you. Please have a safe and happy New Year!!

Kendra Clark
Co-Regional Director

Hello! My name is Kendra Clark and I began as an infant teacher at SDA-Dublin in September of 2012. I was promoted to Assistant Director of the Dublin location in October of 2013 and then promoted again to Director of the Dublin location in September of 2014. I was most recently promoted to Co-Regional Director in August of 2019. I have a passion for children and leadership as well, so what better profession to have?! I currently have a Child Development Associate and many hours of child development and management training. My goal is to learn something new each day and the children often help me fulfill that goal. In September of 2013, I married my best friend and now husband, Chuck. We currently live in a very small town, Woodstock, located in Champaign County.  We have two beautiful children, Ella and Charlie, one cat, Demo, a rottweiler, Impala, and a golden retriever, Chevy. Our son, Charlie, currently attends SDA Dublin and daughter, Ella, attends grade school in our local school system. I have been a volunteer firefighter and EMT-Basic since 2009. I love helping others in any way possible. In addition, I am also a Girl Scout Troop Leader of my daughters Girl Scout Troop 2053. In my free time I enjoy camping, riding our Harley Davidson with my husband, exploring the outdoors, spending time and laughing with family and friends, and especially pranking those who are close to me.

I look forward to creating memories with the children I meet and making a positive impact on all those who I have the pleasure of meeting.

Alicia Yourkiewicz
Co-Regional Director

My name is Alicia Yourkiewicz and I am one of the Co-Regional Directors of Sunny Day Academy and The Emilia Schools. I began as a Preschool teacher at SDA - Hilliard in February of 2011. I then moved into the role of Floating Director after graduating with my Master's in Education in August of 2012. After the birth of my first son, Joey, I was promoted to Executive Director in December of 2013. Kendra and I became Co-Regional Directors in August of this year. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with such a great company for so many years! I absolutely adore our children and families and they make working at SDA/Emilia a pleasure! We are lucky to have the best childcare staff in the world and I am truly grateful to have such wonderful teachers and administrators to work with everyday. My husband, Joe, and I have been married since 2009 and we welcomed our youngest son, Lane, in September of 2015. My boys are very creative about finding new ways to keep me busy when I'm not at work. They love to spread toys around our house, feed our German Shepard (Brady) all sorts of food/items, and set up ninja obstacle courses in our living room. As a family we love to go to the zoo, jump around at the trampoline park, and search for buckeyes on nature hikes. As an individual, I love to spend time with my family (we live down the street from my sister and her family) but when I'm alone I enjoy reading and running.
